Units to Sell for Break-Even and Target Profit
From fixed costs, selling price, unit cost, and a desired profit target, the page shows contribution margin per unit, break-even units (rounded up with ceil on unit counts), units needed to hit the profit goal, and revenue at that profit level when margin is positive.
How to use
Enter Fixed costs, Price, Cost per unit, and Desired profit. Read break-even units, units for profit, and revenue at the profit target. If price is at or below unit cost, counts are invalid.
Example
Fixed 8,000, price 120, cost 45, profit goal 5,000: margin 75, break-even 107 units, about 174 units for the profit goal.
Tips
Assumes every unit sells at full price. Returns, discounts, and VAT are not automatic. Tax on profit is outside unless you adjust inputs.
